Michelle Chen
Foster HS Valedictorian
|
Michelle Chen, valedictorian of Foster High School, is a math enthusiast and student leader. She served as president of DECA and Interact, is an AP Scholar with distinction, and has been recognized as Student of the Year in multiple AP courses.
She plans to study electrical and computer engineering and business, and later start her own tech company. She hopes to run a marathon and travel to all seven continents.
She's guided by her faith and would like to thank her family for supporting her, along with Mrs. Nowak, Mrs. Dawson, and Mrs. Malick.

Liliana Kovar
Foster HS Salutatorian
|
Liliana Kovar, salutatorian of Foster High School, is a leader and competitive dancer. She was actively involved in multiple school organizations, including the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes while serving as a youth leader at River Pointe Church in Richmond.
Liliana will attend Baylor University, where she plans to study business.
Liliana hopes to make a difference through her work, travel the world, and grow in her faith. She would like to thank her friend, Kennedy, for her support.

Ava Kanthack
Fulshear HS Valedictorian
|
Ava Kanthack, valedictorian of Fulshear High School, is a math enthusiast and dedicated student-athlete. Throughout high school, she played volleyball with multiple clubs and served as a referee. Ava was active in the National Honor Society and Key Club and volunteered with Fort Bend Hope.
Ava will attend Colby College in Maine on a POSSE Foundation scholarship. There, she plans to double major in biology and economics to become a dermatologist.
She thanks her parents, Kristen and Jason, and her siblings for their support and for always celebrating her accomplishments.

Swayam Shiroya
Fulshear HS Salutatorian

Swayam Shiroya, salutatorian of Fulshear High School, has a passion for chemistry and a strong interest in the medical field. He was a member of Health Occupations Students of America and competed in medical terminology. Swayam was also Co-President of the Science Olympiad, Secretary of the Technology Student Association, and a member of the National Honor Society.
He will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study biomedical engineering. Swayam wishes to become an orthopedic surgeon and hopes to travel the world.
He credits his mother, Mirali Hirpara, for teaching him that success follows many paths.

Elizabeth Pham
George Ranch HS Valedictorian

Elizabeth Pham, valedictorian at George Ranch High School, was active in several organizations, including Student Council, where she served as Secretary, and the National English Honor Society, where she was Vice President.
Elizabeth plans to continue her academic journey at the University of Chicago, where she will major in physics, supported by both the Odyssey and Dean's scholarships. She aims to work at a lab such as Argonne National Laboratory or Fermilab.
She would like to thank her family, friends, and physics teacher, Eric Ryburn, for their motivation and support.

Rachel Le
George Ranch HS Salutatorian

Rachel Le, salutatorian of George Ranch High School, served as the National Honor Society (NHS) Secretary, co-founded Key Club, competed in Computer Science UIL, volunteered at George Memorial Library, and participated in Girls Who Code for two years.
Rachel will attend The University of Texas at Austin to study computer science to become a software developer in the airline industry. Some of her recognitions include AP Scholar with distinction, NHS scholarship, National Merit Commended Student, AP Capstone Diploma candidate, and more than 160 service hours.
She thanks her dad, Kent Le, her mom, Nguyet Truong, and her sister, Amanda Le, for their endless support and motivation.

Nhu Vo
Lamar Consolidated HS Valedictorian

Nhu Vo, valedictorian of Lamar Consolidated High School, plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at a four-year university, inspired by her interest in STEM.
Nhu is a dedicated leader who has served as DECA Marketing Vice President, Class Vice President in Student Council, and mentor to NASA's High School Aerospace Scholars.
She wants to thank her parents, Ray Vo and Tri Nguyen, for their support and, her teachers, including Mr. Catey, Mrs. Miller, Mr. Oliver, and Mrs. Nguyen.

Chase Cheng
Lamar Consolidated HS Salutatorian

Chase Cheng, salutatorian of Lamar Consolidated High School, is a math lover and future educator. He was involved in the Technology Student Association, National Honor Society, UIL Math and Number Sense, and Student Council.
Chase will attend the University of Texas at Austin to major in mathematics and education. He plans to become a math teacher to inspire students the way his teachers inspired him.
He thanks his math teachers, Anne Nguyen and Barry Vannauker, who inspired his career path.

Alwin Angelo Arellano
Randle HS Valedictorian

Alwin Arellano, valedictorian of Randle High School, deeply loves science, especially biology and zoology. He served in leadership roles across many clubs, including President of the Science Club and President of Service of the National Honor Society, Secretary of Future Farmers of America, and debate. Alwin was Co-Captain of the Varsity Swim Team.
He has received scholarship offers from the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Houston. After college, he hopes to work in wildlife conservation and travel the world.
Alwin credits his growth to his faith, family, friends, and teachers who supported him along the way.

Layla Isabelle Lawhern
Randle HS Salutatorian

Layla Lawhern, salutatorian of Randle High School, has a passion for STEM and a deep commitment to leadership and service. She has been President of the Technology Student Association, Historian of Student Council, and held roles in National Honor Society, Model UN, and the College and Career Club.
Layla will study aerospace engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Her most memorable high school experiences include spending time with friends, volunteering, and studying.
Layla hopes to live a life rooted in faith and positively impact the world. She thanks her parents and friends for their guidance and support.

Benjamin Watkins
Terry HS Valedictorian

Benjamin Watkins, valedictorian of Terry High School, graduates with a passion for math and a strong record of leadership in band. He served as the Clarinet and Front Ensemble section leader. One of his proudest moments was earning second place at the state level for Winter Percussion.
He plans to study business at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on Management Information Systems. He aims to earn a bachelor's degree and maintain an active lifestyle.
He thanks his mom, Adriana Garza, for her constant support.

Terry HS Salutatorian

Noor Sallam, salutatorian of Terry High School, is passionate about exploring new cultures, learning languages, watching movies, and playing volleyball. Noor served as President of the National Honor Society, participated in Health Occupations Students of America for four years, and was active in book club. Her academic achievements earned her an Academic Excellence Scholarship.
She plans to attend a four-year university and earn a bachelor's degree in nursing. She has aspirations of owning her own medical practice and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
Noor thanks her mother, Jameeleh Sallam, her friend Katie, and her former teacher, Chef Marquedral See, for their support.
