About Lamar CISD
Learn About Lamar CISD
Lamar CISD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas, thriving through strong community partnerships and a commitment to student success. Our community’s involvement is the cornerstone of our achievements, with unwavering support demonstrated at athletic and cultural events, through advisory committees, daily classroom volunteering, and financial contributions to the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation.
Together, we create a district that is not only an exceptional educational institution but also a great place to raise a family.
Students are always at the heart of what we do. Our campuses are intentionally designed to foster leadership and engagement. We also support pre-adolescents with dedicated sixth-grade-only campuses, offering a smoother transition to secondary education. This student-focused approach has earned us recognition, including the prestigious HEB Excellence in Education Award, as well as producing National Blue Ribbon Schools, National Principals of the Year, Gates Millennium Scholars, and State Athletic Champions.
To accommodate rapid growth, Lamar CISD has successfully passed bond referendums while maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the Houston area. Ourdistrict’s financial and academic performance has been recognized through membership in the comptroller’s Honors Circle for excellence.
Lamar CISD’s forward-thinking approach, strong leadership, and community support continue to set the foundation for sustained success and innovation.

Lamar CISD Legislative Priorities
On March 27, Lamar CISD Cabinet Members and Board of Trustees traveled to Austin to meet with lawmakers and present our district's legislative priorities to elected officials participating in the 89th Texas Legislature. The team focused on four key advocacy points including:
- Revise Bond Language for Hyper-Growth Districts
- Designate Schools as Critical Infrastructure
- Increase the Basic Allotment
- Enrollment-Driven Funding
As a public school system, our mission is to ensure access to elite education that allows our students to achieve their full potential beyond the classroom.
As a parent and guardian, staff member, and a key member of our school community, your support is important in ensuring our students receive the best education they deserve. Each day, our trustees and district leaders continue to advocate for our students and their future, but they can’t do it alone. We need your support in staying informed, calling your representative and being a voice for the future of education.
