George Arroyos has been a resident of Lamar CISD for the past 25 years. He and his wife, Manuela a native of Fort Bend County, are proud grandparents of two Lamar CISD students and two daughters who are Terry High School graduates. After high school, Arroyos earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Angelo State University and earned a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Victoria.
Arroyos currently teaches Speech Communication at Wharton County Junior College in Richmond. Prior to joining WCJC, he spent more than 25 years in the financial planning industry until he retired from his business career as Vice President for Amegy Bank of Texas. During his financial career, he held several licenses and designations primarily conducting group financial educational presentations to clients throughout Texas and across the United States.
Arroyos currently serves as Chairman of the Fort Bend County Library System Advisory Board, volunteers with Lamar CISD Common Threads, and serves as a 4-H public speaking contest judge. He has also served on the City of Rosenberg’s Parks Master Plan Steering Committee, Rosenberg Planning Commission, and Rosenberg Development Corporation. He and his wife are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond where he has served on the pastoral council, finance committee and taught youth faith formation.
