The Office of Communications works collaboratively with Lamar CISD campuses and departments to provide the necessary internal support that cultivates effective organizational communication, while developing and maintaining external communication platforms that build relationships centered on trust and transparency with our stakeholders.
The department directs and manages all district communications and public relations functions, ensuring strategies align with the district’s values and goals. The department also designs and produces communication pieces, including press releases, brochures, videos, flyers, digital media, and social media content.
The objective of this department is to build community support and to promote the school district.
The Lamar CISD Communications Department partners with campus and district leaders to communicate with families efficiently and effectively about emergencies. While all communication is determined on a case-by-case basis, this page has been developed to give families a general understanding of when and how to expect communication from Lamar CISD during emergencies.
When making decisions about inclement weather, our top priority is the safety of our students, whether they’re driving, riding, walking, or waiting for a bus, and our bus drivers, staff, and families. We want to ensure you are fully informed about how we will communicate any weather-related schedule changes.
The use of any Lamar CISD logo, including campuses and departments, must be approved by the Communications Department. The District reserves the right to deny any request that fails to comply with any aspect of the Logo & Trademark Use Policy. Please allow up to (3) business days from the date the request is submitted to receive approval.

All campuses use ParentSquare to inform parents and guardians for daily communication. In the event of a campus incident or emergency, the communications team works diligently with the campus administration and provides information as necessary to parents and guardians. The safety of students, staff members, and guests is always the top priority.
All public information requests must be in writing to the governmental body you believe maintains the information.
In the event of a school emergency that requires students to be released to parents or guardians through our reunification process, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We appreciate your cooperation in helping ensure an organized and secure reunification.
Social media outlets allow Lamar CISD campuses and departments to engage with our community, to share information, and to exchange ideas. We encourage your comments, ideas, and concerns as they are important to ensure that a broad range of community members are active and informed participants in discussions.
Lamar CISD offers a variety of services, including translation and interpretation, to departments and campuses.
The Communications Department oversees various publications, including The LINK, a community newsletter, and The O.N.E. for staff members. The department also produces news articles and press releases.
