Tax Information

Lamar CISD had been able to maintain a tax rate of $ 1.39005 (per $100 of taxable value) since 2011. However, House Bill 3 compressed the Maintenance and Operations tax rate for the 2019-20 fiscal year which resulted in an overall lower tax rate of $1.32 (per $100 of taxable value).

The tax rate is split into two categories, Maintenance and Operations (M&O) and Interest and Sinking (I&S),  which the monies cannot be transferred between the two.

The Maintenance and Operations tax rate is $.97000. This portion is used to fund the Districts daily operations.

The Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate is $ .35000.  This fund is also known as Debt Service which is used to fund the interest and principal payments on the District's bonds.
