Role of the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees acts as the school district's policy-making body and is the official representative of the people for all public education in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. The Board functions according to state and federal laws, the rules and regulations established by the State Board of Education, the Texas Education Agency and the will of the people as expressed in district elections.

They are a dedicated group of community leaders who are elected to overlapping four-year terms and represent a specific areas within the boundaries of the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Although each trustee represents a different area, they represent the entire district as Board members. The trustees bring a wealth of experience and concern for children to their position.
