Pre-K Enrollment

Pre-K Registration & Enrollment Eligibility

The Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • The child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st. Please note: Lamar CISD does not offer 3-year-old PK or Early Childhood services for non-disabled students
  • The child also must meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • A language other than English is the primary language spoken in the home and the child is not proficient in English. The child will be tested to see if they qualify. OR
    • The family must meet Economically Disadvantaged criteria according to Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines. Parents must bring proof of income such as check stubs, tax returns, child support information, SNAP / TANF / WIC qualification letter, etc. OR
    • The child and family are homeless per the McKinney-Vento Act. OR
    • The child is a dependent of an active duty, injured, or killed in the line of duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces. OR
    • The child is a dependent of an activated / mobilized member of the Texas National Guard or Reserves of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard. OR
    • The child has been or is currently in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services in Texas or any other state. OR
    • The child is a dependent of a Star of Texas Award that is awarded by the Governor for the State of Texas for peace officers, firefighters, or EMS responders that have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. OR
    • The child is a dependent of a currently employed Lamar CISD classroom teacher that provides direct instruction to students for at least four hours a day.

Pre-K Registration & Enrollment Steps

  • Visit School Finder to find your zoned school.

     

  • Complete the New Student Online Enrollment in Family Access.

    • Note: you must have an active email address that you can access to complete the online enrollment for your student.
    • If you do not have a Family Access account, please create a Family Access account (one per household) by clicking the link below.
      • Once you have submitted your request for a Family Access Account, you will receive an email with a secure link to complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application for your student(s).

  • PLEASE NOTE: Knowingly providing false documents for registration is an offense under Texas Penal Code 37.10 and may result in criminal prosecution, fines, and removal of a student from the district.

  • Turn in Your Documents. For the 2025-2026 school year, this will be done at your zoned campus.

     

    Lamar CISD is adding more registration options for 2026–2027.

     

    April 27 – May 8: Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up

    Parents with Pre-K or Kindergarten students new to LCISD will submit their required documents at their zoned elementary campus for 2026-2027. Please see campus websites for more information. Please note the alternative locations for the following campuses:

    • Parents with children zoned to Becerra will register at Beasley.
    • Parents with children zoned to Slawinski will register at Melton.

     

    June 8 – July 16: Pre-K through 12th Grade Registration

    Starting this summer, parents can complete the registration process through either:

    • Virtual Online Completion: Parents can submit the required documentation through the online portal by scanning the QR Code below or clicking the button below:

    • If you choose this option, you will be contacted within 3 business days to confirm your documentation (excluding district holidays or breaks).
    • Please provide a phone number where you can be reached during business hours and/or an email address so we can correspond with you promptly.

     

    • In-Person Completion: Parents can receive in-person assistance with the required documentation by visiting the Lamar CISD Central Registration Center located in Lamar Junior High. The address and contact information for the Central Registration Center is:
      • 4814 Mustang Avenue, Rosenberg, TX 77471
        • West Lamar Junior High Entrance off Mustang Avenue between Lamar JH and Lamar CHS (see the map below)
        • Phone: 832-223-0197
        • E-Mail: registration@lcisd.org
        • Summer Days and Hours: Monday through Thursday – 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Closed Friday.

    July 23 Onward:

    • Grades 9-12: Turn in required documentation and complete the registration process at your zoned high school campus. Please visit the campus website for specific dates and times (Please visit lcisd.org and click on ‘Schools’ in the upper right corner).
    • Grades PK-8: Parents in Grades PK-8 will have the following options:
      • Virtual Online Completion: Parents can submit the above required documentation through the online portal by scanning the QR Code below or clicking the button below:
