Lamar CISD Celebrates Terry High School’s A Rating, Campus Achievements in 2026 TEA Accountability Results

Lamar CISD is celebrating significant campus achievements following the release of the 2026 Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings, highlighted by B.F. Terry High School 

earning an A rating after receiving a B in 2025.

The achievement marks an important milestone for Terry High School and reflects the focused work of students, teachers, staff, campus leadership, and families to strengthen student outcomes and advance academic excellence.

“Terry High School’s achievement is a powerful example of what can happen when a school community believes in its students, remains focused on growth, and works together with purpose,” Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens said. “We are incredibly proud of our Rangers and everyone who contributed to this accomplishment. Across Lamar CISD, we are celebrating areas of exceptional performance while continuing to focus our attention and resources on ensuring every campus and every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

Terry joins Foster High School, Fulshear High School, George Ranch High School, and Tomas High School in receiving an A rating for 2026. Lamar Consolidated High School and Randle High School received B ratings.

Districtwide, 41 Lamar CISD campuses received an A or B rating, including 21 campuses receiving an A and 20 receiving a B. Lamar CISD received an overall B rating in the 2026 accountability system.

Lamar CISD campuses also received a combined 105 Distinction Designations, which recognize outstanding academic performance in specific areas measured by the state's accountability system.

Five campuses earned every Distinction Designation for which they were eligible:

• Adolphus Elementary

• Campbell Elementary 

• Dickinson Elementary

• Fagert Elementary 

• Williams Elementary

Three additional campuses received all but one of their available Distinction Designations:

• Austin Elementary 

• Bentley Elementary 

• Tomas High School

Additional campuses receiving at least four Distinction Designations include:

• Carter Elementary

• Gray Elementary

• Meyer Elementary

• Thomas Elementary

• Foster High School

• George Ranch High School

The Texas A–F accountability system evaluates the academic performance of public-school districts based on student achievement, school progress, and efforts to close achievement gaps. The ratings provide families and communities with information about how schools are serving students and preparing them for continued 

success.

As Lamar CISD begins the 2026–2027 school year, the district will use the accountability results alongside other academic measures to identify areas of strength, target opportunities for continued improvement, and provide differentiated support to campuses based on student and school needs.

“Our responsibility is not simply to celebrate a rating,” Dr. Nivens said. “It is to understand what is working, 

identify where we must improve, and continue raising the standard for every student in Lamar CISD. We are proud of the progress reflected in these results, and we know there is more work ahead.”
