The Texas Technology and Engineering Educator’s Association has honored Lamar Consolidated High School and Lamar Junior High School for Program Excellence.

Each year, only one high school in Texas and only one middle school/junior high in Texas receive the Teacher Excellence Award and Program Excellence Award.

The two schools represented Texas at the International Technology and Engineering Educator’s (ITEEA)Conference, March 16-18 in Dallas. Only 25 programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels received ITEEA’s Teacher Excellence Award and Program Excellence Award, the most prestigious awards given in recognition of Technology and Engineering Education Teachers and Programs.

Adam Frenzel, Anne Nguyen, David DeFranco and Kristen Rausch are the teachers for Project Lead the Way, Lamar Consolidated HS’s pre-engineering program. Carsen Collins is the pre-engineering teacher at Lamar JH.

“It is always an honor and pleasure for ITEEA to recognize those professionals, including teachers and students, who go the ‘extra mile’ in their commitment to excellence in the profession and in their teaching and learning environments,” said ITEEA President, Dr. Edward Reeve. “As president of ITEEA, I am always proud to interact and be associated with these individuals.”
