Every child deserves a place to shine. Bright Futures Academy provides a safe and highly supportive learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our specialized approach blends academics, therapy, and behavior supports—so students can learn, grow, and feel successful at school. Bright Futures Academy at Beasley Elementary will welcome Pre-K3 through 2nd grade students beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Therapeutic Strategies: Every level includes communication and self-regulation supports 
  • Small Class Sizes: Ranging from 1:15 to 1:5, based on your child’s needs 
  • Our Team Includes:
    • Teachers and staff trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and therapeutic strategies 
    • Behavior specialists, counselors, psychologists, and certified professionals in special education

A Charter School Initiative

Finding the right learning environment for your child matters. That’s why Lamar CISD and Lamar Legacy Partners are partnering to launch this innovative new program to meet the unique needs of students. Bright Futures Academy at Beasley Elementary will welcome Pre-K3 through 2nd grade students beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. 

Traditional classroom settings can sometimes lead to challenges like sensory overload, frustration, and even unsafe behaviors. Bright Futures Academy is different. We focus on creating a safe, structured, and supportive setting where young learners can thrive. For children in Pre-K through 2nd grade, we provide: 

  • Specialized classrooms tailored to sensory and behavioral needs 
  • Targeted communication and behavioral supports to help students engage and learn 
  • A caring team that understands how to help children navigate the school day successfully

Family Training and Support

We believe that learning doesn’t stop at school; it continues at home and in the community. That’s why Bright Futures Academy partners with families every step of the way. 

  • Required Parent Training – Every family participates in scheduled training sessions to learn strategies that support their child’s growth.
  • In-Home & Community Support – Our team can provide training in your home or community settings to help your child use skills in real-life situations. 
  • Collaborative Approach – Teachers and support staff work closely with parents to create strong partnerships that benefit every child.

At Bright Futures Academy, we go beyond traditional learning to create an environment where children with autism can thrive. Here’s what makes us unique: 

  • Flexible Scheduling – We work with families to create schedules that fit your child’s needs, including space for therapy sessions, sensory breaks, and family involvement without compromising academics. 
  • Therapeutic Integration – Speech, occupational, and other therapies are built into the school day, including therapeutic interventions to address behavioral and emotional challenges in a supportive and proactive way. 
  • Behavioral Support – Our team collaborates closely with certified Behavior Analysts to support positive behaviors. 
  • Sensory-Friendly Spaces – Classrooms are designed to reduce sensory overload and promote calm learning, incorporating sensory-friendly tools like sensory bins, weighted blankets, and quiet spaces in each classroom.
  • Community Connections – Students enjoy real-world experiences and partnerships that build confidence and social skills, creating a sense of belonging and emphasizing that all students are members of the community. 
  • Family Training & Support – We offer training for parents at home or in the community to reinforce learning and strengthen connections between school, families, and community resources. 
  • Planning for the Future – We help families prepare for the next steps in education and life. 

Enrollment Eligibility

Bright Futures Academy is designed for young learners who need extra support to succeed. Students must meet the following criteria: 

Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder 

  • Have an active Individualized Education Program (IEP), OR 
  • Are currently in the referral or evaluation process for special education services 

Students Requiring Intensive Support

  • Demonstrate a need for individualized help with behavior, social, or emotional skills 
  • May have a history of frequent disciplinary removals, school avoidance, or chronic absenteeism related to an underlying disability or social-emotional needs 

Students Needing Specialized Programming

  • Would benefit from small class sizes (no more than 10 students) and an integrated academic and therapeutic approach 
  • May require wraparound services such as counseling, occupational therapy, or behavior intervention plans 

District Enrollment Requirements

  • Must live within district boundaries (unless approved for an inter-district transfer) 
  • Parents/guardians must sign a Family Partnership Agreement outlining shared goals, attendance expectations, and participation in progress meetings
