Transfer Requests

A campus transfer is a request for a student to attend a school other than the campus designated for their residential attendance zone.

Requesting a transfer between schools can be a significant decision and often involves several steps to ensure a smooth transition. In Lamar CISD, all requests for transfers are guided by the following Board Policies:

  • FD (Admissions)
  • FDA (Admissions: Interdistrict Transfers)
  • FDAA (Interdistrict Transfers: Public Education Grants)
  • FDB (Admissions: Intradistrict Transfers and Classroom Assignments)
  • FDE (Admissions: School Safety Transfers)

Transfer Request Steps

Click on the header below for the transfer request type that matches your scenario. Once you receive the email approving your transfer request, please complete the steps to enroll your student(s).

  • If your student/s currently attends Lamar CISD and you move to a new address within the same Lamar CISD attendance zone, you do not need to complete a transfer application.

    Instead, contact the campus registrar to update your address.

    1. provide an updated proof of residency.

  • If your student/s currently attends Lamar CISD and you move to a new address and will now be in a different Lamar CISD attendance zone, you do not need to complete a transfer application.

    Instead, contact the campus registrar to update your address 

    1. provide an updated proof of residency

  • If you live in Lamar CISD and:

    1. plan to move to another LCISD attendance zone within the first 6 weeks of a semester and
    2. want your student to start at their new school,

    please fill out the Intra-District Transfer (In-District Transfer) application below.

    In-District Transfer Application

  • If you live outside of Lamar CISD and:

    1. plan to move to Lamar CISD from another school district and
    2. the move is within the first 6 weeks of a semester, 

    please fill out the Inter-District Transfer (Out-of-District Transfer) application below.
