Lamar CISD is proud to announce significant gains in the 2024-2025 Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings. The district’s overall score increased by 3 points from the 2023-2024 school year—earning a “B” rating with a score of 88 out of 100. This growth places Lamar CISD among the top 10 highest-rated public school districts in the Houston area.
TEA bases the ratings on how much students are learning and whether they are ready for the next grade. It also shows how well a district prepares students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military.
Across the district, schools demonstrated excellence in student achievement, academic growth, and closing performance gaps. Highlights include:

High Overall Ratings: Approximately 90% of district campuses scored in the A or B range, showcasing strong academic performance across all grade levels.

Elementary Excellence: Eighteen elementary schools across Lamar CISD earned an A rating, reflecting strong student achievement at the foundational level.

Secondary Success: Six secondary schools across Lamar CISD earned an A rating, showcasing strong performance at the secondary level.
Several campuses also stood out for earning distinction designations in 2025:

- Adolphus Elementary, Beasley Elementary, Carter Elementary, Culver Elementary, Hubenak Elementary, Hutchison Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Morgan Elementary, Smith Elementary, Terrell Elementary, Thomas Elementary, Velasquez Elementary, Steenbergen Middle/Wright Junior High, George Ranch High School, Lamar Consolidated High School, and Terry High School.
