Lamar CISD's Morgan Elementary will open in January 2022. However, the school will function independently on the Huggins Elementary campus during the fall 2021 semester. An Attendance Boundary Committee (ABC)—made of community members from the areas under consideration for rezoning—will recommend the attendance zone for Morgan Elementary to the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees.

Before making a recommendation, the ABC is seeking input from residents living in the impacted area. A public input meeting will be held Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fulshear High School Auditorium, located at 9302 Charger Way in Fulshear.

The public's input will help the ABC finalize its recommendation to the Board of Trustees. The recommendation will be based on the latest demographic projections, enrollment, facility capacity and the best utilization of existing facilities. The ABC also looked closely at current and projected growth trends, trying to alleviate overcrowding while minimizing the movement of students to new schools.

The ABC has reached consensus on the boundary recommendation, but it could change based on the public's input. To view the 1-11-21 ABC recommendation, please view the link on this page.

This elementary zoning process will only determine who will attend Morgan Elementary. It will have no impact on secondary (Middle, Junior, High School) attendance boundary zones. You can learn more about the LCISD Zoning Process and the timeline below. Please call 832-223-0330 if you have any questions.

The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees has approved the new attendance zone for Randle High School and Wright Junior High, opening in August 2021. Your student may be impacted by the rezoning. Please review the Board-approved attendance boundary map below to see the impacted areas.

Randle High School will open with freshmen and sophomores only. Wright Junior High will open with 6th-, 7th- and 8th-graders. Students rezoned to Randle High School for the 2021-2022 school year may remain at their current high school campus—through graduation—if they're eligible for one of the following exceptions.

  • Sibling Exception: A student who will be in the 9th or 10th grades when the 2021-2022 school year begins may remain at George Ranch, Terry or Lamar Consolidated high schools—if they have a sibling at that high school in either the Class of 2022 or Class of 2023.

  • Varsity Participation Exception: A 9th-grade student who earns varsity status at George Ranch, Terry or Lamar Consolidated high schools in academic, performing & visual arts or athletic UIL competition during the 2020-2021 school year may request an exception, which will allow the student to stay at their 2020-2021 high school through graduation.

Students approved to remain at George Ranch, Terry, or Lamar Consolidated high schools per the sibling or varsity participation exception will need to provide their own transportation to and from school beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.
