2023 Junior High Summer School

LOCATION: Wright Junior High, 7500 Koeblen Road, Richmond, TX 77469

Junior High Summer (7-8) Programs

The Junior High Summer session is for current 7th & 8th Lamar CISD students who have failed core content classes (ELAR, Math, Science, or History). Junior High School students will be enrolled in the required summer school courses by their school counselors. The school counselors will notify parents and students that they are required to attend summer school and provide all necessary information pertaining to the summer school courses.

Student instructional days: June 5 through June 22, 2023

Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm

Students attend the full day.

LOCATION: George Ranch High School, 8181 FM 762, Richmond, TX 77469

STAAR EOC Tutorials will be offered for students in LCISD needing to retake a STAAR EOC. Students will attend a full day (1 session) if they require one EOC, the session time will be based on scheduling availability.   Students who failed more than 1 EOC will attend the full day (2 sessions).

• Session 1- 8:15 AM to 11:30 AM
• Session 2- 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM

RETEST DATES:

• June 26 – English 1
• June 27 – Algebra 1
• June 28 – English 2
• June 29 – Biology & US History  

                    No Make-up Day

Initial Credit and Credit Restoration Classes (1/2 credit each session) - Session #1 and Session #2

• Session #1 will be held Monday - Friday: from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM
• Monday, June 5th through Friday, June 16th, 2023

• Session #2 will be held Monday - Friday: from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM
• Wednesday, July 5th through Tuesday, July 17, 2023

Open to students in 8th – 12th grades.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Registration Dates: April 17th through May 19th

Payment due no later than May 22, 2023

Initial Credit In-District Cost: $150 per session ($75 per session for LCISD students on free or reduced lunch program) No cost for Credit Restoration. Credit Restoration not available for Out-of-District students.

Initial Credit Out-of-District Cost: $250 per session

High school students (including incoming 9th graders) will need to self-register online through Family Access in Skyward for both initial credit and credit recovery courses and pay for initial credit courses through Family Access/Go Fan. (No fees for credit restoration courses). Payment must be received in full by May 22nd or student will be dropped from the course. OUT OF DISTRICT & NON-LCISD STUDENTS

Students who live outside of the LCISD school zones are considered out of district and will need to pay out of district course fees. Students who do not attend LCISD but live within LCISD school zones qualify for in district course fees. Any students who have never been enrolled in a LCISD school will need to enroll before registering for summer courses. 2023 Extended School Year (ESY)- Special Education

Extended school year is a special education service provided to students who demonstrate the need for services beyond the regular school year to reduce and prevent regression of skills. ESY programs address skills in the areas of academics, behavior, and social skills.

*ESY services are determined on an individualized basis by the ARD committee through a review of student data and progress.
