Please join Lamar CISD in recognizing that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
At its August meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring September 2017 is “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month” in the Lamar Consolidated ISD.
Families, caregivers, charities, organizations and research groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every year, approximately 16,000 children in the U.S. under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer; 1/4 of them will not survive the disease.
The objective of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is to put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues and help raise funds for research and family support.
