Lamar CISD announces Purple Track Growth Plan for the 2023-2024 School Year

Sep 29, 2022 | Lamar CISD Communications

Lamar CISD announces Purple Track Growth Plan for the 2023-2024 School Year

(Rosenberg, Texas) – Lamar CISD is the fastest growing school district in the State of Texas and enrollment is outpacing the most recent projections from the District’s demographer.

As a result, the District is considering various options to accommodate the rapid growth. One set of options involves the construction of facilities financed through the issuance of voter-approved bonds

In the event that the District does not obtain voter approval for the issuance of bonds, the District currently anticipates implementing a strategy that involves repurposing existing campuses and acquiring portable buildings to accommodate enrollment growth. Even with the approval of bonds, there will be a period of time during the construction of facilities that the District will need to implement a repurposing strategy to address enrollment growth.

The following plan outlines the approach to address capacity challenges at Fulshear High School using a repurposing strategy for the 2023-24 school year and beyond if necessary. This strategy will ensure that students have the best learning environments possible and will impact these campuses: Fulshear HS, Leaman JH, Roberts MS, and Lindsey, Tamarron, Huggins, Hubenak, Morgan, and Bentley Elementary Schools.
