Please remember that Canvas is now available for all elementary students. All guardians in Skyward that have access to the Skyward Family Access Center automatically has a Canvas account. Your email address listed in Skyward will be your username for Canvas. That account is automatically linked to all of your children in LCISD! For instructions on how you can login to your account, including setting up your password for the first time, please visit

Important Dates

Monday, October 15th, is the beginning of School Lunch Week.  Please take time to show our wonderful team in the Wildcat Café how much we love and appreciate them.  Also, students may bring in their pumpkins for the Pumpkin Character Contest. (flyer attached)

Tuesday, October 16th, is National Boss’s Day. We hope all of our Wildcat Boss’ enjoy their day!

Friday, October 19th, is the judging for the Pumpkin Character.  Good luck to all participants.


  • The crossing guard, Mrs. Jones, is not on duty until 7:00am to safely get our Wildcats across the street. If your child needs to cross before 7:00am, please walk with them to ensure they cross safely. 
  • The front doors open at 7:00am daily. 
  • Breakfast is served until 7:25am. Class begins at 7:30am. Tardy slips are issued after the bell rings.
  • FOR WALKERS ONLY:  If your child is a WALKER at dismissal, please complete a Rainy-Day Dismissal Plan and return it to your child’s teacher. Also, join the Remind group for WALKERs (text the message @fkkk3 to 81010) to receive messages regarding changes in dismissal due to inclement weather.

Fall Fundraiser: READ A THON!!!!  

We’ve had a great kick off to our Read A Thon! Check out the students at the Kick Off: Rally:   

Please sign your child up online and begin gathering donations.  Students are to get donations/sponsorships to support 2 weeks of reading. Be sure to log your reader's time on his/her Read A Thon page. You can count homework reading as well as individual reading.  The goal is 30 minutes per day for 10 days thru 10/19.  Prizes are involved!  Proceeds from the Read A Thon go to support our school...every little bit helps!  FYI:  THERE IS NO CATALOG SALE

Next PTO Meeting 10/15, 6 PM

We will be meeting in the Library on Monday 10/15 for our next meeting.  We are scheduling a vote for our long-term goal and need your input on the current items under consideration:  

  • Basketball Court ($25,000 - 30,000)
  • Electronic Marquee/Sign ($21,000)
  • Playground Shade Structure (Varies by Size: $10,000, $12,000 or $14,000)
  • Teacher Work Room Machines (Poster/Banner Maker $6,000, Cut Out Machine $9,300, Both $13,500 - Includes discount for purchasing both at same time)

We have $10,000 earmarked for this investment in the school and need your input to direct the funds, as well as future saving for the item(s) selected.  Voting must be in person, one vote per family unit.  WE NEED YOU!!!

10/16 MOD Pizza Spirit Day

Yep...all day.  Lunch, 'linner', dinner, and snacks at MOD all contribute to a donation to our PTO.  Come hungry!

Fall Box Tops Competition

Keep collecting your Box Tops.  You can turn them in to your teacher thru 10/31.  Be sure to write your teacher's name on your baggie/papers when you turn them in. One class per grade will win a popsicle party for collecting the most Box Tops.

Volunteer & Donation Needs:

  • Sight Words:  Ms. Stelzel is looking for volunteers to review sight words with students from 7:30-7:45. Are you able to help after dropping your kiddo off?  Please let us know at . Your help makes a child succeed! 
  • Keep an eye out for our Sign Up to help feed our teachers on 11/1 during Parent/Teacher Conferences.  The Watch DOGS are planning a grill out for the teachers and the PTO will be providing sides and sweets.
