During the Lamar CISD regular April board meeting, Dallis Warren was named Chief of Police for the Lamar CISD Police Department.

Warren previously served as the District’s School Safety Coordinator and was named the Interim Police Chief in February 2020. As the Lamar CISD Chief of Police, Warren will oversee the planning and creation of the District’s first police department and will assume supervision of the department once the District’s contract with the Rosenberg Police Department has ended.

“As the District’s first School Safety Coordinator, Dallis has been instrumental in putting policies and systems in place to ensure our students have a safe, healthy learning environment,” said Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle. “I’m confident his extensive experience in law enforcement and knowledge of Lamar CISD’s safety needs will help guide us successfully through this transition.”

Before joining Lamar CISD in 2018, Warren served as the Police Chief of Rosenberg and has more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement, including more than 25 years in administration. He also served as a Criminal Justice instructor at Wharton County Junior College and Texas A&M’s National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center.

In his more than 40 years in law enforcement, Warren has served as police chief, assistant chief of police, captain, detective and sergeant in the Rosenberg Police Department. He is a graduate of two FBI Sessions, has his master’s from Sam Houston State University and a bachelor’s from the University of Houston-Downtown.
