January is School Board Recognition Month. Lamar CISD will join districts across the state to honor the countless contributions of these locally elected advocates, and thank them for their willingness to serve our children and public schools.

School board members tackle a difficult job and shoulder enormous responsibilities. These men and women are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for our public schools. They provide vision and leadership in their roles as advocates and ensure students are prepared to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.

Board members serving Lamar CISD are President Kay Danziger, Vice President Kathryn Kaminski, Secretary Mandi Bronsell and members Joe Hubenak, Alex Hunt, Joy Williams and Jon Welch.

Lamar CISD benefits from the tireless work and countless hours contributed by these local citizens who work without pay. Serving as a crucial link between the community and classroom, Lamar CISD Trustees are responsible for more than 35,000 students, nearly 5,000 employees and more than 40 campuses.
