Astronotes for March 8, 2018 - from Bud Whileyman
As we continue to focus on school safety, we will have more drills and meetings to finalize what our response will be in a crisis situation. We did have a lockdown drill on Tuesday. In addition, we met with a member of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department and he walked the building to give us more tips on safety. We have a few ideas that we will be discussing at our next safety meeting. The district is also forming a district safety committee comprised of one staff member from each campus. The district is trying to get some uniformity in how schools respond to a dangerous situation.
We have early release day this coming Friday. Elementary students will be dismissed at 11:30. Please make appropriate arrangements for your child’s after school care. I hope everyone has a great spring break and that the students and staff come back refreshed and rejuvenated for the final months of the year.
