Astronotes for January 8, 2014

Jan 08, 2014 | Bud Whileyman

I hope everyone had a great holiday vacation.  The majority of our students arrived this Tuesday morning ready to go to work.  Our staff have recharged their engines and are prepared for a strong second half of the year.  With the weather being so cold in the early part of the week, recess will be limited until conditions warm up.  By the end of the week we should be back up temperature-wise to continue outside activities.

Our Spelling Bee is set for this Wednesday, at 1:00 pm for all interested 4th and 5th graders.  The winner of this contest will advance to the next round at a location to be determined.  The winning student will also have their name inscribed on the Spelling Bee plaque in the front foyer of the building. Good luck to all spellers!

This Thursday will be our first PTO meeting of the new year.  We will be meeting at 6:30 to review past information and to discuss upcoming activities. Our PTO group meets on the first Thursday of every month.  Any parents interested in becoming a part of this organization, please feel free to attend.

Nine weeks tests for grades 3-5 will begin this Friday and continue through next Wednesday.  The subjects of math, reading, writing, science, and social studies will be tested.  Let’s have a great year in 2014!!!
