Astronotes for December 4, 2013

Dec 03, 2013 | Bud Whileyman

I hope everyone has a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving.  I know I ate way too much food and watched numerous football games.  We have 3 full weeks before we begin our next holiday break.  Hopefully we will have a significant amount of learning during this brief time.

There are many events happening over the next few weeks, please check our webpage for the latest: Campus Event Page.  Lamar High School Band will perform here at 1:00 on Thursday to get us all in the Christmas Spirit.

We want to wish our UIL students the BEST OF LUCK as they compete this Saturday at Wertheimer Middle School.  They have been working hard and I know they will do well.

Our students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be attending the “Beauty and the Beast” performance at Foster High School this Friday morning.  The students always seem to enjoy these productions from the high schools.  We want to thank our PTO for funding this field trip as we would not be able to attend without their support.  Our 4th and 5th grade students will be attending a Lamar High School performance, “The 25th annual Putnam Spelling Bee”, in January.  This performance is more audience interactive and will be better suited for our older students.  This is also funded by our PTO.
