Garza, Rocha named to lead campuses

Two veteran administrators are taking the helms at campuses for the 2014-2015 school year.

Tonya Garza is the new principal at Travis Elementary. A graduate of Terry High School, she has her bachelors and masters from the University of Houston-Victoria.

 She served as the director of Seguin Early Childhood Center prior to leading Travis. She also served as an assistant principal at Smith Elementary and the principal for elementary summer school. Prior to entering administration, Garza taught kindergarten, first and second grades at Ray Elementary.

Mary Ellen Rocha is the new director at the Seguin Early Childhood Center. She has her bachelors from Houston Baptist University and her masters from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Rocha began her career with Lamar CISD as the attendance clerk at Lamar Junior High. She was an administrative assistant and tutor at Smith Elementary, then taught at Beasley and Ray Elementary schools. Prior to moving to Seguin, she served as the assistant principal at Pink Elementary.
