Library Welcome

My name is Mrs. Vasquez. I have been in education for 20 years and a librarian for eight of those. I have a husband, three kids, a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and two amazing grandchildren! I love being a librarian! Our library is open from 6:45 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. At Seguin, students have story time, makerspace, digital citizenship and internet safety lessons, and starting in January they check out books. The library is about finding joy in books, obtaining new information in a variety of ways, engagement and discovery.

Mission Statement

The mission of Lamar Consolidated ISD Librarians is to create a physical and digital environment in which our students, staff, and community can strengthen their natural inquisitive nature, foster a love of reading, and serve as a collaborative resource for teachers and staff in developing and delivering powerful learning experiences across all curricular areas.

Student Checkout and Classes

The library is open Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m..  Students visit the library every week for story time and a library lesson.

Our Pre-Kindergartners will be permitted to checkout one book per week beginning in January.

One of the most important ways to encourage a love of reading in your child is to read aloud together.  We encourage you to set aside some time each day to read with your child.
