Bluebonnet Reading Program



The Texas Bluebonnet Award Program is a state-wide program for students in grades 3-6.
Texas Librarians nominate 20 new books each year from different genres to be on the Bluebonnet list.
Its purpose is to promote free-choice reading and expose students to a
variety of quality literature.

The 2017-2018 Nominees:

Taylor Ray Bluebonnet Book Club Challenge
 
  • Level 1:  Students who read at least 5 books by January 2018 are eligible to vote for their favorite book. 
  • Level 2:  Students who read the required number of books for their grade level AND pass the quizzes by January 2018 are invited to the Bluebonnet Celebration date to be determined.

Required Number of Books per Grade Level:
Third Grade - 10 books 
Fourth Grade - 11 books 
Fifth Grade - 11  books

  • Level 3:  Students who read the required number of books for their grade level AND pass the quizzes by January 2018may qualify for the Campus Battle of the Bluebonnet Books (BOBB) teams. Teams will move on to participate in the District-wide Battle of the Bluebonnet Books to be held (TBA).
