October News!

From the Principal...

Storming in to 2017-18

Wow!  We have entered a new school year like a storm!  Actually, we began with a storm which certainly made the start of school exciting and different.  We hope all of our Beasley families came out of Hurricane Harvey safely and we want you to know that we are here to support you with anything you still may be dealing with.  If you are in need of anything to get life back to normal, please contact the campus and let us know how we can help!  We are very proud of our students and how flawlessly they began the year.  After they were here a week, they were acting as if they had already been here a month.  Their behavior and attention to task has been spot on!  We sure do love our Beasley Bobcats.  This year we are focusing on our future and helping our student realize their progress in elementary school is setting them up for success when they leave our campus.  We are talking about a Growth Mindset and learning from mistakes.  We have planned a lot of involvement activities that we hope you will join us for.  Please be on the lookout for activities and opportunities for you to join us on campus to see what exciting things are happening at Beasley!

Red Ribbon Week: Oct. 23-27

Each year in October, the school district celebrates Red Ribbon Week for Drug/Alcohol Awareness.  Typically we have themed days for the students to dress up in support of being drug and alcohol free.  We also use this week to have a “Clean Drive” where we accept donations that we give to Common Threads to disperse to families in need.  Our Red Ribbon themed days will be the following:

· Monday—Wear Red “Putting a STOP to Drug Use”

· Tuesday—Wear pajamas “We are TIRED of Drugs”

· Wednesday—Wear favorite college shirt “We are too SMART to do Drugs”

· Thursday—Wear camouflage—”You won’t SEE me doing drugs!

· Friday—Deck out in House Color “In my HOUSE we don’t do Drugs”
