Parents give campuses good grades

Feb 14, 2014 | Community Relations

Eighty percent of Lamar CISD parents gave either an A or B to the campuses where their children attend school.

That is one of the findings from Lamar CISD’s first-ever Campus Climate Survey. The survey also showed 80 percent of District employees also gave their campuses either an A or B.

Staff, students and parents were invited to complete a Campus Climate Survey, open to participation from December 2 – 20. Participants were asked about the climate at their respective campuses.

Survey topics included:

  • Academic preparation;
  • Student support;
  • Parent engagement;
  • School leadership;
  • Safety and behavior;
  • School operations; and
  • School and District events.

Parents were invited to participate via email and had access to a public link on the District website. Teachers were sent email invitations, while students took the survey online during the school day.

This report provides a district-level overview of survey results for the 2013-2014 school year.

Each campus will receive a “site-level” report for use in school improvement planning.
