Gifted & Talented

Mission Statement

To provide advanced learners with the appropriate classroom instruction and services to fulfill their highest potential.

Nomination and Testing

Nomination forms for the 2018-2019 school year are due to the counselors' office by December 22, 2017. Testing will begin in January and parents will be notified the first week in May of identification results.

Nomination forms are available in the counselors' office or email GT facilitator.

If students are already in the secondary GT program, they do not need to be nominated and re-tested for the following school year.

The Program

All students identified and placed in the LCISD Gifted and Talented Program will be:

  • Provided differentiated instruction in the foundation curricular areas by trained G/T classroom teachers,
  • Served in the G/T classrooms through modifying depth, complexity, and pacing to the state/district curriculum,
  • Encouraged to exercise creativity and higher level thinking,
  • Served at the secondary level through Pre-AP, AP and Dual Credit classes.
