Pink Elementary Raises Money for Pennies for Patients

Pink Elementary students and staff participated in the national Pennies for Patients drive and raised $1230.73 that was donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity organization that funds blood cancer research and patient services. Students took individual collection boxes home and brought coins and cash back to school. Competitions were fierce between grade levels and individual classrooms. Kindergarten was the winning grade level, raising $316.77. Mrs. Benitez’s 5th grade class will be rewarded with a pizza party for collecting the most money, their classroom total being $171.64.
