Elementary No. 24 in Lamar CISD is still without an official name, but the school now has its first principal.
Tom Thompson was announced as the new principal at the monthly meeting of the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees.
Thompson moves over from Hubenak Elementary, where he is an assistant principal. Prior to Hubenak, Thompson was a teacher, assistant principal, associate principal and principal in Fort Bend ISD.
He has his bachelor’s from Bloombsburg University in Pennsylvania and his master’s from the University of Houston-Victoria.
