Lamar CISD has named Alphonso Bates as the District’s new Chief Student Services Officer.

As Chief Student Services Officer, Bates will provide leadership and overall management to the Student Services departments in Lamar CISD, ensuring operations and programs are effective, incorporate District goals and support student achievement.

Bates earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Education from The University of North Texas. Bates has over 22 years of educational experience serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and Dean of Instruction. He most recently served as the Interim Superintendent and Chief of Organizational Management in Community ISD.
