Shelter

Fort Bend Family Promise - Overnight Shelter

The Overnight Shelter program provides shelter for homeless families through local congregations rotating in their responsibilities. The program has the capacity to house up to 5 families (14 people). For more information contact Fort Bend Family Promise or visit the Fort Bend Family Promise website.

Every morning, guest families utilize our Day Center in Missouri City. The Day Center provides guest families with access to laundry and shower facilities, phone and Internet access. It’s also where they work with a case manager to develop an individualized plan to regain housing and self-sufficiency.

Each evening, our Family Promise van transports guest families to that week’s hosting congregation where volunteers welcome them as guests into their church, providing them with meals, hospitality and overnight accommodations. There are currently twelve host congregations in our network that host for one week at a time on a rotating basis.
