Principal - Carla A. Thomas

Ms Thomas

Dear Palominos,
As we begin this exciting journey together, it is my privilege and pleasure to introduce myself to you as your new Principal and share my philosophy.

My name is Carla Thomas. I am a native of Louisiana. My family and I moved to Richmond, Texas almost 25 years ago where I continued to grow as an educator. I am passionate about my profession, a learning leader who enjoys reading and spending quality time with family and friends. I have been blessed to be in the education profession for almost 30 years. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and earned my Master of Educational Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria. I started my career in Lamar CISD at Smith Elementary, where I served 12 years as principal, assistant principal, teacher, and campus facilitator. I opened Culver Elementary in 2019, where I served as principal for 3 years.

My experience has taught me that it is essential to begin every day with a growth mindset, positive attitude, and high expectations for myself and others. Positively impacting the lives of my students, their families, and my staff are the driving forces behind my passion to inspire others to make a difference. I strongly believe that every child can learn in a safe and nurturing environment where they can feel free to set goals, take risks, and be themselves without judgement. I look forward to us creating a community of learners who will thrive in knowledge and respect, while becoming responsible citizens of our wonderful community.

I am extremely thrilled to embark upon this journey with you as we begin building our legacy while fostering a culture of excellence.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to meeting you very soon!

Sincerely,
Carla A. Thomas, M. Ed.

Palomino Family,

I am thrilled to be a part of the Pink Palomino family! I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you all. I am a proud Fort Bend native, born and raised in the lovely city of Sugar Land, TX. From a young age I’ve always had a deep-rooted passion for helping others, and what better way to fulfill that passion than by shaping the minds of our future scholars!

To further enhance my skills and knowledge, I embarked on my undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University and successfully completed my graduate degree at Prairie A & M University. My journey in the world of education began in 2003 when I joined the Extended Day Program in Fort Bend ISD. It was there that I discovered my true calling and fell in love with working alongside students. Witnessing their growth and development ignited a fire within me to make a positive impact in their lives.

In my professional journey, I have had the privilege of working in various roles within the education field. I have contributed my skills and expertise as an assistant principal, counselor and teacher in Lamar CISD, Fort Bend ISD, Houston ISD, and Houston Community College.

Within my family, I am happily married to my husband, Greg, and together we have three wonderful children. Our eldest daughter, Brooklyn, recently graduated from Sam Houston State University. We also have two sons: Robert, who will be entering 11th grade, and Ryan, who will be starting 7th grade. We cherish our shared interests in sports, traveling, food, and movies. Personally, I find joy in reading, solving puzzles, and immersing myself in Hallmark movies.

I am beyond excited to be a part of this incredible school community. I look forward to collaborating with every one of you to create an environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential. Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives. Let’s embark on this exciting adventure together!

Sincerely,

Jimitra Granger
