About Meyer Elementary

Attendance Information

Please send a note of explanation on the day your child returns to school after an absence, and be sure to include the cause and the dates involved. Excuse notes signed by a parent, medical professional, or court official will be accepted up to 10 days after student's return to school. Illness lasting 5 or more days requires a doctor's note in order to be excused.

Please note that unless the absence is for a statutorily allowed reason under compulsory attendance laws (religious holy days, required court appearances, activities related to obtaining United States citizenship, and documented health care appointments,) the district is not required to excuse the absence.

If you have any questions regarding attendance policies, please contact the school at (832) 223-2000.

Tardy Policy

Students must be in their classroom by 7:30 each morning or they are considered tardy. All tardy students must be signed in at the office by a parent. A child who receives 3 tardies in a 9 week grading period will receive a Level 1 warning notice. On the 5th tardy, a detention notice will be sent home. 1st offense - lunch detention in cafeteria, 2nd offense - lunch detention in office, 3rd offense - after school detention. After school detention is held Monday - Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

We "re-set" our student's tardies at the beginning of every 9 weeks.

Visitor Information

All visitors must present a valid driver's license so that the office staff may sign each visitor into the Raptor system. Please be prepared to show a photo ID each time you visit for lunch or any other school event, as well as when checking a student out of school.
