The Texas Bluebonnet Award Program is a state-wide program for students in grades 3-6. Its purpose is to promote free-choice reading and expose students to a variety of quality literature.  

 

2018-2019

Bluebonnet Book Program

4th and 5th Grades

Students:

  • 5-7 Books: Vote for their favorite BB Book and enjoy a donut in the library on Tuesday, January 29th.
  • 8-11 Books:Park and Read: Students will walk to the nearby park and enjoy 1 hour of free reading time.Cold beverages will be enjoyed on the walk back.
  • 12-20 Books: Invitation to Ventriloquist Show: Nancy and Her Friends
  • Compete on the Bluebonnet Team:A Party in the Box to Main Event

Classroom: Class with the most books read will win a Pizza Party.

Bluebonnet Team: 

  • Consists of 6 members
  • All members of the team need to have read ALL of the books
  • Books must be completed by Friday, January 25th.
  • Team will practice 2 afternoons a week: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
  • Practices will begin February 14th

 **Disclaimer:  Students must read and pass a readnquiz assessment to earn credit for each book. They must register with Mrs. Hearn to gain access to readnquiz.
