Counselor's Corner

WILL JONES

Greetings! My name is Will Jones, and I am super excited to be joining McNeill as one of your school counselors! I have heard nothing but amazing things about the students there, the diversity, the amazing teachers and phenomenal leadership. It just made sense for me to join this wonderful school of greatness! I graduated from UHD, (Go Gators) and completed grad school at Lamar University. I taught for five amazing years in high school before becoming an elementary school counselor. I absolutely love working with children and I am passionate about their success in every aspect of their lives. You will probably always find me snacking on something because I love food! I love listening to music and dancing. I just enjoy having fun! I love life, I love people, I love having an opportunity to be the best version of me every day! And, I am super competitive, probably beyond what’s reasonable. I am always ready for a friendly competition.

My name is Francine Patterson-Cobb. I am excited to be in a new position as a counselor at McNeill Elementary.  I started at McNeill in 2008 as a Special Education Counselor and transitioned back to the classroom as a teacher in 2012.  I have been in education for 21 years.  I received my bachelor’s degree in 1999 from Prairie View A&M University and finished with my master’s degree in counseling in 2000.  I am super excited about being a counselor at McNeill because I believe we are a family here and want to make a difference in building a positive school climate. I believe as a counselor I am responsible for helping guide students academically and providing them with tools to support their emotional or physical needs.  I look forward to having a successful year here at McNeill.
