Artists earn honors at World Series of Dog Shows

Lamar CISD students earned accolades for their artworks at the 2016 Houston World Series of Dog Shows. 

The student were part of the Dr. Mari Jon Filla Student Art Exhibit and Contest. Art work will be on display at the Brazos Crossing Administration Building, 3911 Avenue I in Rosenberg through the end of August.

Foster High School’s Sonali Puri won the Commemorative Art Award, earning a $350 scholarship.

The artwork of George Ranch student Jessica Flores was named best among all the 12th-grade entries, earning a $100 scholarship.

Dylan Rolon from Foster High School won a Committee’s Choice Award and a $50 scholarship.

Ryon Middle School’s Kaitlyn Rose and Lamar Junior High’s Virginia Liu won Blue Ribbon Excellence Awards. Beasley Elementary School's Avery Brewer, Ryon’s Katherine Le, Briscoe Junior High’s Tristan Davis and Lamar Junior High’s Kira Chance won Red Ribbon Merit Awards.
