Angel Tree 2022

Happy Holidays Huggins Family,

We are excited to announce the Huggins Angel Tree is almost ready! We are opening the first opportunities to adopt families to our parents this year.  Parents may come up to the school to pick their angel off the tree any time after Tuesday, November 29th. Or you may call Mrs. Terry at 832-223-1605 or email her at to adopt a family for this holiday season.

This year we are asking our parents to purchase gifts that are age appropriate for the student based on information you will receive from us.  We are asking that gifts are at maximum $40-70 per student that you have adopted. Please consider adopting more kids if you want to spend more than $70 dollars. You will be given your angel list before the Thanksgiving break, so you will have plenty of time to shop.

All presents need to be delivered to Huggins Elementary between Monday, December 5th-Thursday, December 8th between 8AM-1PM.  This will allow for time to deliver presents. Please have all presents wrapped and write your assigned number on every present. If you have any questions, please contact our counselor, Mrs. Terry, at 832-223-1605. Thank you and have a safe and happy holiday season!

Miguel Jimenez Gomez is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2022 at Foster High School.

The son of Mario Jimenez and Yolanda Gomez, he will attend Rice University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

While at Foster, Miguel served as a member of the JV tennis team, Technology Student Association, AP Ambassadors, Workforce Industry Training, Diversity Club, Gender and Sexuality Alliance, National Honor Society. Miguel was also recognized by College Board as a two time AP scholar, earned multiple awards from TSA and placed third for his photography for Drexel University’s 2021 Photography Contest.

Miguel says he aspires to combine his passion for both engineering and photography as he moves forward in finding a career. He says he will remember how Foster High helped him refine his character. He credits his alma mater with teaching him important skills that he will carry with him throughout life and providing him with challenges that helped him learn more about himself and grow as an individual. Reflecting on his high school experience, Miguel reminds his fellow Falcons of a quote by Josef Koudelka- “The biggest lesson in photography is that from negative we make positive.”

Abigail Opoku is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2022 at Foster High School.

She is the daughter of Yaw and Lydia Opoku, and will attend the University of Texas. Abigail will be majoring in Economics and Pre-Medicine and aspires to become a doctor.

While at Foster, Abigail served as the Choir’s secretary and president, the co-president for the African Student Association, the secretary of National Honor Society and a member of the volleyball team and the Gloryland Assembly of God Church Youth Group. She was recognized with scholarships from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship and the Honorable Hilmar G. Moore Endowed Scholarship.

Abigail ultimately hopes to help shape the future of medicine and how healthcare is delivered in communities within the United States and around the globe. She says she will look back fondly on her time at Foster, but will remember the memories made with her choir family the most. “It brought me great joy to collaborate with diverse people who care deeply about their musical crafts. Being in choir and working diligently to master various musical pieces showed me the importance of discipline and determination. Choir gave me community, enhanced my work ethic, improved my communication skills, and showed me the value of teamwork.”

She leaves her classmates with some personal words of wisdom: “Be the light. In a world that can often appear so dark, it is important to be a person who sheds light and sparks hope for the future. Be kind to others, serve your
