Summer Reading Essay Example Prompt

Essay Test

In a carefully reasoned essay, fully develop your response to the prompt. Use a minimum of two specific examples from each of the readings to develop your position. You are allowed to use both texts, a dictionary, or a thesaurus on this assignment. It is due when the bell rings. Please use the essay checklist to edit your written response prior to turning it in. Please note: responses less than one page will be considered underdeveloped and will have an automatic ten point deduction. Please use the remainder of this page for planning. Staple order: Rubric, Prompt, Essay.

Apply techniques for analysis from Foster’s How to Read Literature Like a Professor  to analyze the importance of change in Places Left Unfinished at the Time of Creation.

Summer Reading 2014:

How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

I strongly suggest you read the Foster book before reading the Bradbury novel. Foster's How to Read Literature Like a Professor will help you annotate and analyze the Bradbury novel.
