Hi Choir!

So excited about our upcoming outing with the World Champion Houston Astros on June 26th!!  Here's a few things that you need to know:

*Students need to wear their choir shirts, blue jeans (no shorts please), close-toed, soft-soled shoes.

*Students will meet Ms. Brown inside the Right Field Entrance of Minute Maid Park; this is the drop-off point at Hamilton  and Preston.  We will meet INSIDE THE ENTRANCE AT 5:20.

*Once we meet up with our Astros representative, students will not have an opportunity to use the restroom, as per Astros management.                     There is no restroom in the staging area. Please plan accordingly. :)

*Once students arrive/check-in with Ms. Brown, parents are to go to their seats.  Unfortunately, parents are not allowed on the field.

*Don't forget this is "Dollar Hot Dog Night"!  Be ready to chow down! :)

If you still need to purchase tickets, please go to

If you have any questions, please contact me via Remind or email me.  I will NOT be checking emails after 12:00 on the 26th.  Thanks! :)

Teacher Profile

Ms. Laura Brown
Music Teacher Elementary

Hello!  I am so thrilled to be starting my fifth year as an Austin Astronaut!  I began my teaching career in 1993.  I have  previously taught at Dulles Elementary in FBISD, Frost Elementary for six years and spent eight  wonderful years at Briscoe JH where I taught choir, theatre and Life Skills. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Houston, and my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.  I am originally from the Panhandle, but have lived in the Richmond/Rosenberg area since 1987.  I have three wonderful children, a daughter and two sons, all of whom are college-aged. I have a sweet dog, Claire and a frisky cat, Nora.

My hope for your children is that I can instill in them a love for music and the arts that will carry on far beyond their elementary years.  I feel so very blessed to be entrusted with your children.  They are truly a joy!
