Teacher Profile

Ms. Amanda Mcauley
Second Grade Teacher

I am a native Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas. I began my journey at Stephen F. Austin Elementary in 2001 as a parent when our oldest daughter enrolled in kindergarten.  I joined the staff two years later and spent the next 10 years coordinating HOSTS, a volunteer mentoring program, and focusing on reading intervention. I moved into a traditional classroom in 2013.  I taught first grade for one year, and have been teaching sweet 2nd graders ever since. I love children's literature and teaching reading.  I can't wait to share some of my favorite stories with students this year!

Mr. McAuley works for the Texas Historical Commission and is building a new museum at the Stephen F. Austin State Historic Site near Sealy. Our oldest daughter Zoe is a junior at Stephen F. Austin State University and is studying to be a registered nurse. Piper recently graduated from Foster High School and is studying to be a doctor of physical therapy at The University of North Texas.

The Busy Bees are ready to buzz on into a great year of fun and learning!
