This past Friday and Monday we had many grandparents come to eat lunch with their grandchildren. I never realized we had so many young grandparents. I guess as we all age we don’t think of grandparents as being senior citizens or even being old for that matter. I enjoyed seeing all of our grandparents and the students really felt special eating with grandma and grandpa. We will try to continue to have this special day every year as it was a real positive experience. Thank you for coming grandparents!!!
We are having a problem with some of our parents calling after 2:00 pm to make changes in the way their child goes home. As per the Elementary School Handbook: "Any change in transportation arrangements for any student requires a note or phone call to the front office from the parent by 2:00 pm or 30 minutes prior to the dismissal of the school day on early release days." The reason this stipulation is included in the handbook is because it becomes very hectic at the end of school and it can be difficult to locate every child within the amount of time needed to change transportation home. If an emergency situation arises, such as an accident preventing you from getting to school to pick up your child, or a medical emergency requiring a change in pickup, then the secretaries have been advised to have you talk to an administrator for approval. There will be no exceptions to this procedure. Thank you for cooperating in making sure your child gets home safely and on time.
