This Friday, February 13th, is an early release day for elementary school. Students will be released at 11:30. Secondary schools will go their normal schedule. Students will have a holiday on Monday, February 16th, for President’s Day. Teachers and staff will be attending in-service training instead of getting the day off.
Don’t forget your significant other as Valentine’s Day approaches. Several of the grade levels will be celebrating on Friday before the actual day. Students always enjoy the swapping of Valentine’s Day cards and taking part in the celebration of this fun event.
This week we have completed the Benchmark testing in grades 3-5 which is the final assessment before the big STAAR tests. These tests are used for diagnostic purposes to help teachers and staff determine the needs of the students in mastering the concepts required for their grade level. Teachers and students are glad that the testing is over for a while and basic teaching and learning can take place again in the classroom.
