Oct 01, 2014 | Community Relations

For the 12th consecutive year, Lamar CISD earned the Superior Achievement rating from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).

FIRST looks at 20 separate indicators, including fiscal responsibility, budgeting, personnel and cash management. Lamar CISD received the highest possible score on all indicators, giving the District a perfect score.

“We certainly are proud of the District’s history of strong financial management,” said Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Randle. “Much credit goes to our financial officers, but also to our employees and our Trustees. We recognize the importance of fiscal transparency and providing the best education possible, while also considering the effect on the taxpayers’ pockets.”

The system encourages Texas public schools to manage financial resources, ensuring the maximum dollars possible are used for instructional purposes. The system also highlights the quality of local management and the decision-making processes that impact allocating financial resources in Texas public schools.

Jill Ludwig is the Chief Financial Officer for Lamar CISD, Yvonne Dawson is the Budget and Treasury Officer and Michele Reynolds is the Director of Finance.
