Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Foster High's Class of 2021

    May 11, 2021 | Community Relations

Graduation exercises for Lamar Consolidated High School's Class of 2021 will be held Wednesday, May 19, at 8 p.m. at Traylor Stadium.

    Foster Val

    Brian Wu
is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2021 at Foster High School.

The son of Mike and Christine Wu, he will attend Rice University, majoring in Economics.

While at Foster, Brian served as the president of NHS and as the vice president and historian for Foster’s Student Council. He also participated in WIT, French Club, Asian American Culture Club and the Ping-pong Club. Additionally, this year Brian was selected as a National Merit Scholar.  Outside of school, Brian was an avid volunteer locally with St. John’s United Methodist, Faith United Methodist and The Pajarito Environmental Education Center in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Brian says he will remember the tremendous support of his classmates who always believed in him. Reflecting on his high school experience, Brian reminds his fellow Falcons of a quote by Confucius- “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

     Foster Sal

Rahman Khandakar is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2021 at Foster High School.

He is the son of Khandakar and Kumkum Rahman, and will attend the University of Texas. Rahman will be majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and aspires to develop new technology.

Rahman ultimately hopes to be successful in life and wants to be remembered in history for doing something important. He says he will look back on Foster High with great memories of his friends and an appreciation for the vast variety of information he was able to take away from his classes.

He advises his classmates to learn from their mistakes and leaves them with his favorite quote: “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein
