Valedictorian and Salutatorian for Lamar Consolidated High's Class of 2022

Graduation exercises for Lamar Consolidated High School's Class of 2022 will be held Friday, May 20, at 8 p.m. at Traylor Stadium.

Emily Chau is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2022 at Lamar Consolidated High School.

The daughter of Hung Chau and Suong Huynh, she will attend the University of Texas, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

While at LCHS, Emily was a member of Student Council, TSA, Ambassadors of the Mustang Pen, AP Camp, the Mustang Band, College Community Career, YIP, NHS and UIL. Emily encourages her fellow Mustangs not to get so carried away that you lose sight of the things you value.

She leaves the Class of 2022 with a quote from Alan Cohen, “There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.”

Emily Dunn is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2022 at Lamar Consolidated High School.

The daughter of Bob and Christi Dunn, she intends on attending Duke University, majoring in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Physics. Emily aspires to become an Astronautical Engineer or an astronaut herself.

While at LCHS, Emily was the NHS and TSA president and a member of AMPS Peer Tutoring, an intern for Born Global Research and served her community as a volunteer firefighter and lifeguard. She also participated in softball, wrestling, basketball and swimming.

Emily hopes her fellow mustangs remember that Self-investment yields the highest return, saying “put in the time, energy, and effort to become who you want to be.”

Emily chose a quote by Paulo Coelho as her goodbye to the class of 2022, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.”
