Art work of Ryon Middle School student to be shown at State Capitol

Ryon Middle School artist Bailey Rech is one of only 10 6th-grade students in the state being honored in the “Treasures of the Texas Coast” children's art contest.

Each winner will receive two all-day passes to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, one ticket to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, one ticket to the Houston Zoo and one ticket to the planetarium at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. There are also prizes from the Texas General Land Office and a signed certificate from Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush.

The winning artworks will be featured in the 2016 Children's Art Contest calendar and be displayed May 19 - 26 at the South Central Gallery in the Texas State Capitol.
