Lamar Consolidated HS holds opening day at new baseball/softball complex

Mar 03, 2014 | Community Relations

Lamar Consolidated's boys and girls of summer will play their home games on new diamonds this season, thanks to support from Lamar CISD voters.

The new baseball and softball fields were dedicated Feb. 28. Former Mustang baseball coach Jim Wynn threw out the first pitch and Board of Trustee President Julie Thompson cut the ribbon and gave the word to "play ball!"

Lamar Consolidated High alum Jimmie Lee Solomon, a former vice president with Major League Baseball, also spoke at the dedication.
