Lamar CISD unveils new logo, with eye to the future and the past

The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District will begin the 2012-13 school year with a new image.

“A logo is the key visual component of an organization’s overall brand and identity,” said Mike Rockwood, Lamar CISD’s Executive Director for Community Relations. “We wanted the Lamar CISD logo to portray both who we are and where we are going.”

Currently, there are multiple District logos in use. The purpose of the new logo/design is to create a uniform brand and “look” for the District, Rockwood said.

The selected logo incorporates the traditional sunburst inside the type treatment for “Lamar,” making it more iconic. The longstanding slogan “A Proud Tradition—A Bright Future” is included in the design.

The District will begin phasing in the new logo immediately.
