Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) - Certificates demonstrate that you have specialist skills in using Microsoft applications. They are a globally recognized standard. Microsoft say they are the" only comprehensive, performance-based certification program approved by Microsoft to validate desktop computer skills." CareerSafe

CareerSafe - The goal of the CareerSafe program is to teach younger workers how to stay safe in the workplace and begin to prepare these young men and women for a safe and prosperous future in their chosen career. By providing entry-level workers, particularly high school and college students, with fundamental safety knowledge needed in the workplace, this program brings the significance of safety to the forefront. Additionally, it seeks to challenge society to affirm the value of life by joining efforts to reduce the workplace injuries and fatalities suffered by this at risk working population. ServSafe

ServSafe - The ServSafe program provides the resources to help keep food safety as an essential ingredient in every meal. ServSafe training is the one commitment to food safety implementation that we should all share every day. ProStart

ProStart - It's no secret that the restaurant and foodservice industry is growing. In fact, it is estimated that from 2006 to 2016 the number of jobs in the restaurant and foodservice industry is projected to increase by 1.9 million - of which approximately 47,000 will be management positions! The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation is working hard - and getting results - in helping to meet this need through initiatives such as its ProStart program which encourages high school students to consider careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. CompTIA

The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for computer support technicians. The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ certified technicians also have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients.

NCCER

National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a non-profit educational foundation which develops industry-driven, standardized craft training programs. These credentials are portable and help to address the critical workforce shortage in the construction industry. LCISD participates in the entry-level assessments which evaluate the skills and knowledge in specific craft areas based on the Contren Learning Series construction and maintenance strand, specifically core, carpentry, and welding.

ASE Certified Programs by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation(NATEF), and AYES(Automotive Youth Education Systems). LCISD's automotive program gives students a jump start on their ASE certification. After two years of relevant work experience, prospective candidates register to take one or more of ASE's exams.
